Jointless industrial floor using synthetic macro fibre-reinforced concrete: a Hungarian case study (2026)

This paper presents the design and construction process of the jointless industrial floor, with particular emphasis on the finite element modelling approach and the material parameters employed.

In jointless industrial floors, in addition to conventional service loads, structural behaviour is significantly influenced by tensile stresses induced by concrete shrinkage and by friction between the slab and the subgrade. At present, no generally accepted design guideline exists for the assessment of these effects, and current design practice relies largely on empirical recommendations.
